The Marine Data Exchange Heritage Accelerator (MDEHA)
MDEHA plays a key role in speeding, improving and showcasing ways that heritage can contribute to delivering offshore wind, aligned with The Crown Estate’s Marine Delivery Routemap.
Lead Organisation: Historic England
Location: England
The MDEHA project, is a two-year project, led by Historic England in partnership with the Offshore Wind Evidence and Change (OWEC) programme, led by The Crown Estate, and endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade. MDEHA is remobilising over 20 years’ worth of heritage data derived from marine development to increase and enhance the evidence base upon which project-specific and strategic decision-making is based. This will enable better and faster decision-making by regulators and developers in planning offshore wind farms, ultimately helping to facilitate cleaner energy, as well as share knowledge about marine heritage.
MDEHA plays a key role in speeding, improving and showcasing ways that heritage can contribute to delivering offshore wind, aligned with The Crown Estate’s Marine Delivery Routemap. The programme models long term seabed use like never before, exploring how we can meet future demands – like achieving net zero by 2050 and recovering the marine environment – under a range of scenarios.
This project is funded by the Offshore Wind Evidence and Change (OWEC) programme, led by The Crown Estate in partnership with Defra and DESNZ. Endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade as a Decade Action.
