Endorsed Actions

By earning a CHFP endorsement, a project will become an endorsed Action of the UN Ocean Decade, and will receive access to the CHFP’s network of projects, experts, and resources. As part of CHFP, you will be an active part of the ongoing conversation between cultural heritage and the ocean sciences.

This includes:

  • An annual meeting to network and discuss the progress of interdisciplinary culture-nature projects within the ocean decade
  • Access to specific research networks, with the opportunity to create new ones
  • Access to our growing Early Career Researcher network
  • Co-ordinated progress towards integrating cultural heritage into ocean policies and plans
  • Access to a targeted newsletter with global updates on integrated culture-nature ocean research, activities, and funding opportunities

As part of the ongoing official Call for UN Decade Actions, CHFP invites submissions to be endorsed as part of our programme – please see the Guidance Note for Applicants for full information as to how to submit an application.

Please contact us if you would like to join at georgia.holly@ed.ac.uk

What does it means to be an endorsed decade action?

UN Ocean Decade Actions are regional, national, or sub-national undertakings which actively address and contribute to the UN Ocean Decade Programme. Actions can be endorsed through CHFP as a project, activity, or contribution.

At CHFP, we are looking for Actions which engage cultural heritage within the UN Ocean Decade.

As part of the on-going official Call for UN Ocean Decade Actions, CHFP invites submissions to be endorsed as part of our programme.

Types of Endorsement with CHFP

Endorsed Projects must apply during one of the regular UN Ocean Decade calls for  Actions, and Projects typically are multi-year, multi-lateral initiatives.

Endorsed Activities can apply for endorsement at any moment in time, and are generally shorter-term initiatives such as events, exhibitions, conferences, training opportunities, publications or products.

Endorsed Contributions support the UN Ocean Decade through provision of a necessary resource (e.g. funding or an in-kind contribution). A contribution can support either the implementation of a UN Ocean Decade Action or the coordination costs of the UN Ocean Decade.
