CHFP Unveils SeaVoice Annual at ‘Immersed in Change’ Conference
The CHFP recently took part in the Costa Rica ‘Immersed in Change’ conference to showcase the SeaVoice Annual. This event, centred on tangible ocean action, highlighted the collective steps the ocean conservation community can take to safeguard and restore marine ecosystems.
The conference featured a main program of plenary sessions that brought together experts in diverse fields to illustrate successful and replicable conservation actions. Key discussions covered global ocean agreements, the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction, the importance of sustainable use of ocean and coastal marine biodiversity, and the role of technology in accelerating action for the ocean. Additionally, a vibrant program of side events complemented the main sessions.
The CHFP was thrilled to attend the conference alongside our SeaVoice partners Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy, part of the Pew Charitable Trust, and Edinburgh Ocean Leaders. Conference highlights included the first opportunity to share the SeaVoice printed edition, The Annual, with the ocean community, including many leaders in ocean action from around the world. Meeting some of the authors who contributed to the print edition and giving them a printed copy was a significant moment. SeaVoice also took over the Instagram account of EcoWatch for a day to share live updates and behind-the-scenes insights from the event.
The conference not only allowed the CHFP to showcase our work but also ignited exciting new collaborations and partnerships, with many attendees eager to contribute to future initiatives. This momentum promises to invigorate the CHFP’s mission and expand its global impact.
